Leadership Gift from Reconstructive Orthopedics Sets
Stage for the Future

“Research is a priority in redefining care, particularly when it comes to orthopedics and joint replacement procedures. We believe in making investments that will allow physicians to continually seek the best possible solutions to the problems our patients face.”

-- Dr. Scott D Schoifet, MD, CEO and President for Reconstructive Orthopedics

The Endowment for Orthopedic Research at Virtua, established with a $500,000 leadership gift from Reconstructive Orthopedics, ensures that patients who rely on Virtua for orthopedic care continually have access to cutting-edge technology and procedures, and the physicians with the skills to deliver the best possible care.

Grateful patients can also play an important role in the future of orthopedics at Virtua.

All gifts in support of the Endowment for Orthopedic Research will guarantee it remains a perpetual source of funding that provides the next generation of physicians - and the patients they will care for – with the highest level of expertise, access to clinical trials and leading research.

Patients from up and down the east coast seek care at Virtua, relying on our skilled orthopedic physicians and multi-disciplinary care teams renowned for their expertise in a range of fields, from sports medicine to spine procedures and joint replacements.

As national pioneers in minimally invasive joint replacement surgery, Virtua’s Total Joint Replacement Institute (JRI) is recognized for its outstanding quality and high patient satisfaction rates. The initial focus of endowment funds will be directed to JRI –related work. This will create a research infrastructure that will then be applied to many other areas of orthopedic care. This will ensure Virtua’s comprehensive orthopedic program maintains the highest level of expertise and patient care.

“There is a great deal that we will be able to share with others and that will impact orthopedic patients far beyond the South Jersey community,” said Dr. Schoifet.

Virtua Foundation is grateful for Reconstructive Orthopedics’ gift, one that will make a significant impact on patient care. As a Physician Partner in Philanthropy, they share Virtua’s vision of a patient-centric model of healthcare delivery and a collaborative approach to consistently deliver compassionate, efficient and high quality patient care.
