Over two evenings in October, Virtua welcomed hundreds of community members for a first look at the new Virtua Samson Cancer Center in Moorestown. Designed to deliver comprehensive cancer care close to home, the new 48,000 square-foot facility will ensure that our community has easier access to a full range of services and innovative technologies, all under one roof.

The Virtua Samson Cancer Center will provide medical and radiation oncology through the Penn Medicine Virtua Cancer Program, which is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer and has received the Commission’s Outstanding Achievement Award. To address the complex needs of patients, the Center will also contain offices for clinical social work, nurse navigators, clinical research, genetic counseling, lymphedema care, and palliative and survivorship care. From the onset, the design for the Center focused on the patient experience and creating a space that promotes serenity and healing.

In an effort to provide additional care and comfort, Virtua Foundation has partnered with Regional Cancer Care Associates (RCCA) and Rizzieri Salon to offer a one-of-a-kind boutique that provides compassionate, specialty salon services for individuals receiving cancer treatment at Virtua. The RCCA Hair Boutique, with services donated by Rizzieri, offers a complimentary clipper cut, wig and wig fitting, and scarf/wrap lesson to any Virtua oncology patient.

As a result of a $2 million gift from the Marvin Samson Foundation to Virtua Foundation, Virtua is poised to deliver extraordinary care at the new Virtua Samson Cancer Center. We are tremendously grateful for this gift, which will impact the lives of so many cancer patients in our community.
