On November 28 our community came together to give children the chance to just be kids!

This year on November 28 - also known as #GivingTuesday - we invited our generous community of donors to join us in supporting children across South Jersey who have a parent or loved one battling cancer. Collectively, in only one day more than $13,000 was raised for this wonderful program. As a result of this support, Virtua can send hundreds of local children to Camp Oasis for a day, free of charge!

Virtua's Camp Oasis is a one-day getaway offered twice a year for children and families affected by cancer. On camp day, 50 children are taken by limo to "Camp Oasis" to have fun with other children who are going through the same experience. The campers enjoy a day of relaxation and support while building connections with other kids who share their unique worries or concerns.

This amazing program has been offered for 10 years and is fully funded by gifts made to Virtua Foundation. We can't do it without your help!

What is #GivingTuesday?

#GivingTuesday is a global giving movement that has been built by individuals, families, organizations, businesses and communities in all 50 states and in countries around the world. On #GivingTuesday, millions of people come together to support and champion the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live.

On this national day of giving, Virtua Foundation raises funds in support of Virtua's Camp Oasis program. This wonderful program, offered to children across South Jersey who have been impact by a loved one's cancer diagnosis, has been offered free of charge for 10 years. Because of the support we received from #GivingTuesday in 2016, we were able to offer Camp Oasis not once, but twice in 2017 for kids in our community.
