Give for Good

Virtua’s Colleague Giving Campaign

“Give for Good is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the collective power of our philanthropy. When we give as individuals, the magnitude of our combined effort makes a remarkable difference for our patients, neighbors, and each other.” — Dennis W. Pullin, FACHE, President and CEO

Your Generosity Matters at Virtua

Through Give for Good, Virtua colleagues have the opportunity to make a remarkable difference for each other, our patients, and the community we serve. Even when we feel that our individual gifts are small, when we join together our collective impact is vast. Together through philanthropy, we create change and improve lives every day by:

  • Supporting and uplifting each other through the Colleague Care Fund.
  • Reducing financial barriers for Virtua nurses and nursing students continuing their education.
  • Ensuring that our community – including our colleagues – has access to fresh, healthy, and affordable foods.
  • …and so much more!

Give for Good is a vital part of how we ensure that our colleagues and community can be well, get well, and stay well. It’s our culture – the Culture of WE. We are caring colleagues, Here for Good. And, together WE make a difference!

Why Colleague Giving Matters

Jennifer McAteer
Patient Access Registrar

“Virtua was there for me in a way I didn’t expect when my beloved husband, Edward, suddenly passed away. Knowing they cared about me as a person and not just as an employee meant the world to me. I was lucky to find out about the Colleague Care Fund and I honestly don’t know what I would have done without it. People don’t realize how important it is to have an employer and fellow colleagues who are fully behind you. Virtua is a big family that is there for us at the heart. I’m truly grateful for the support I received, which is why I now make a regular contribution to this fund in my husband’s memory. Helping the next colleague who is facing a difficult situation is the best way I know of to say thank you!”

Why Colleague Giving Matters

Greg Pease
Director of Operations, Outpatient Services

“Giving to others is something that comes from our hearts. As a leader at Virtua, I believe it’s important that ‘WE’ give back in any way we can to help our patients and community members in need. I personally give each year to Virtua’s CASTLE program. For me, there’s nothing better than knowing that my donation is truly helping children in Camden County get the treatment they deserve. Together, ‘WE’ make the difference!”

Why Colleague Giving Matters

Kimberly Cresthull, BSN
Assistant Nurse Manager a Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital

“Supporting the Nursing Scholarship fund benefits our nurses, our patients, and our communities! Working towards a master’s degree is something I never thought could be achievable. Higher degrees seem so unreachable, especially when you start life in poverty. Through education, I have achieved a better quality of life for myself and my family, doing a job that I love. A scholarship can make the difference for someone struggling to afford their education.”

Why Colleague Giving Matters

Liny Joseph
Director, Clinical Documentation Improvement

“I was taught at a young age from my parents that there is always someone that needs help more than you. As health care professionals, I think it is important to remember that. It doesn’t matter how much you give…every cent counts. When you Give for Good, it will make a lasting impression and feel good. I typically give in recognition of a team member’s preferred fund, in honor of someone’s journey, or in memory of someone I care about. As Helen Keller stated: Alone we can do little; together we can do so much.”
