a Celebration of Run with the Docs 2020

While Run with the Docs 2020 has been canceled this year, we are still celebrating the spirit of this meaningful event, and have asked families who have benefited from Virtua’s Perinatal Bereavement Program to participate in a special way.

We invite you to view our 2020 Celebration of Run with the Docs video below.

About Run with the Docs

Run with the Docs is a 5k run and 1-mile walk that was created in 2015 by a committee of physicians who recognized the need for additional support for patients and families who experience the tragedy of miscarriage or infant loss.

“This type of loss can devastate families. As caregivers, we need to know the best ways to provide the comfort and support they need to heal. That’s part of what Virtua’s bereavement program can do with our help,” says Stacy McCrosson, MD.

“The community’s outpouring of support has been tremendous,” says Ann Coyle, RN, manager of the perinatal bereavement program. “It’s so important that grieving patients and families get the right kind of support at the right time, and this funding enables us to educate caregivers across the region about how to provide that.”

Support for Parents Coping with Loss

Virtua Health’s Perinatal Bereavement and Palliative Care program supports families through pregnancy loss or an unexpected fetal diagnosis, and helps provide care for the difficult journey that follows.
